Local Bookshops

Waterstones

The Centre:MK, 3AH, 51-53 Silbury Blvd, Milton Keynes MK9 3AG, UK – 01908 696260

Waterstones is definitely my most favourite bookshop in the area. As most of the stores in the area Waterstones is situated at the Milton Keynes shopping centre. I visit the bookshop at least 3 or 4 times a month since I love reading and it always nice browsing and checking the latest book releases. The staff is very helpful and polite and always willing to help without "atracking" you the second you enter the shop. Waterstones is a definite must visit bookshop.

Right in the heart of mk mall. Great place to spend some time with kids and pick up reading books. Always has some offers

Waterstones

For a self-confessed book addict, Waterstones is pretty much heaven, wherever you find it. The branch in MK has had some big changes over the years post Ottakers but it now boasts a better cafe, moved to downstairs and loads of space upstairs. Staff are very helpful and manage to put up with my habit of photographing book covers when I'm browsing, so I can remember them when I'm in another branch!!! The Waterstones Card loyalty scheme works pretty well, as you get points & thus, money for everything you buy. I've been in it since the original pilot. All in all, what's not to like?

The cafe here is particularly good, they have a good range of hot and cold drinks that are made to a high standard. They also sell cakes and other treats, in which many are vegan and they gluten free, they are also made by local businesses. The cafe has a good atmosphere and comfortable seating, they also do not play 'drink your coffee and leave quickly' music, hence it is a perfect setting for passing an afternoon with a book. The customer service here is one of the best I have experienced, the staff are chatty, friendly, knowledgeable of any dietary requirements you may have and sometimes recommended books you may like. They also do a deal where if you buy their book of the month you get a free hot drink.

The Works

Better small shop than expected. Each one has different stock so if you don't find what you want in one shop, try a different 'works' and you might be lucky Too small to be well stocked but interesting browse.

Love this shop there is always something new to give you inspiration I have to say its a fun shop something new around every corner I got another book to add to my 600+ oh how I love books the world needs more books
